December – Toys for Tots
In December, we celebrate the holidays and support the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots®! This initiative was originally started in 1947 by Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks. He began the program for his wife, Diane, who handmade dolls but couldn’t find an organization to donate them to at that time. Bill then enlisted the help of his reserve unit and his connections from his civilian job, leading to the creation of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Now, 77 years later, they continue their mission of providing new, unwrapped toys to bring hope to disadvantaged children across the United States during Christmas. Donate HERE.
