Every child deserves to be raised in a safe, nurturing, loving home. At DeShon Laraye Pullen PLC, we appreciate the hard work and dedication of good parents throughout Arizona.
Since Sunday is Mother’s Day, today we will focus on all the wonderful moms in our lives.
According to Wikipedia, Mother’s Day is a relatively new holiday. Its roots go back to 1905, when a West Virginia woman’s mother died. The woman, Anna Jarvis, began campaigning to create an official American Mother’s Day holiday, which Jarvis celebrated for the first time in 1908.
The idea of a day to honor your mother spread through the country in just a few years, and in 1914, President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation designating the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day, a national holiday.
There is perhaps nothing so profound as the relationship between mother and child. Mothers produce life. When we are young, they play with us, introduce us to the wonders of the world around us, and keep us safe. They provide the necessities of life and teach us proper behavior. Through it all, they provide love that we can always rely on, no matter what.
We wish all the moms out there a very happy Mother’s Day!
